DDP Incoterm is one of the 11 trade terms in the incoterms series, published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).It stands for Delivery Duty Paid, a terminology which can be used for any mode of transportation.
DDP is the only Incoterms rule that places responsibility for import clearance and payment of taxes and/or import duty on the seller. These last requirements can be problematic for the seller. In countries with complex or bureaucratic import clearance procedures a seller with local knowledge may prefer to take on these responsibilities. DDP - Delivered Duty Paid (named place of destination) Seller is responsible for delivering the goods to the named place in the country of the buyer, and pays all costs in bringing the goods to the destination including import duties and taxes. The seller is not responsible for unloading. This term is often used in place of the non-Incoterm "Free DDP stands for Delivery Duty Paid, an international commerce term (Incoterm) used to describe the delivery of goods where the seller takes most responsibility. Under DDP, the supplier is responsible for paying for all of the costs associated with the delivery of goods right up until they get to the named place of destination.
